Testing Blogger custom permalink.

Blogger has now finally introduced the much awaited custom permalink (post URL) to replace the default automatically generated permalink.

This test post title is "Testing Blogger custom permalink" and its automatic URL is

http://testing-blogger-beta.blogspot.com/2012/07/testing-blogger-custom-permalink.html

Now I put in the Custom URL field [box] the following - testingbloggercustompermalink
and this changed the permalink to

http://testing-blogger-beta.blogspot.com/2012/07/bloggercustompermalink.html

It would be nice to have the custom URL as
http://testing-blogger-beta.blogspot.com/bloggercustompermalink.html
instead.

Unfortunately there is no way to remove the year and date of the posting in the URL.

and this is the instruction to delete and restore Google account

Deleting or restoring a Google account
Before deleting your Google Account, review the data associated with your account on the Google Dashboard. Keep in mind that deleting your Google Account will affect each product differently. We've put together a short list describing the behavior of a few products, but be sure to read up on specific information about other products that you're using.

If you've joined any Google groups, you'll continue to receive emails in your inbox after you've deleted your Google Account. To stop receiving emails, unsubscribe from a group by sending an email to [Groupname]-unsubscribe@googlegroups.com. For example, if you wanted to leave google-friends, you'd send an email to google-friends-unsubscribe@googlegroups.com

You'll permanently remove the Google products associated with that account, such as your orkut profile, your iGoogle page, and your Web History.

If you use Gmail with your account, you'll no longer be able to access that email. You'll also be unable to reuse your Gmail username.

To delete your Google Account, follow these steps:

Sign in on the Google Accounts homepage.
http://www.google.com/accounts/Login

(If you forgot your password, you can reset it).
Click Close account and delete all services and info associated with it to delete your account. If you don't see this link near the bottom of the page, your account was likely created through an organization or company. To delete your account, talk to your domain administrator.
Confirm your account deletion. To do so, you'll need to select these two options: "Yes, I want to delete my account," and "Yes, I acknowledge that I am still responsible for any charges incurred due to any pending financial transactions." (You can safely select the latter option if you haven't used any of Google's paid products, such as AdWords and Google Checkout, or if you have no pending financial transactions related to these products.)

If you accidentally deleted your Google Account, you can attempt to restore it by going to our password assistance page within a limited window of time after deletion.

Test to see how long deleted blog stays in blog list

A commentator at How to delete a Blogger blog asked: "how to remove completely without showing the blog in deleted list.."

And my answer was to wait for 3 or more months to see if blog has been removed from deleted list and also if URL is available to others to claim for their own:

Let me test my answer. I am going to delete this blog Guang Zhou Kitchen today from another account and let us check in 3 or more months time if the blog has been removed from the list of blogs.

Update:the result as of today 6/4/2012, that is, more than 3 months after deletion, that blog is still in the deleted blog list and can still be undeleted. Will check again later.

Update 19 April 2012: Forgot to save under which Blogger account was this Guang Zhou Kitchen was created/listed so so redoing this test today by deleting Mapdoo Malaysia. This blog was created/listed in my main Blogger account.

Google Apps, Blogger custom domain giving trouble again

This website Damansara Uptown Directory showing "This domain is parked free, courtesy of Google Apps" again.

This is the third or fourth time I had seen it. I don't know how many times it had happened without me being aware of it.

Hoping to get a permanent solution soon but wonder if that is wishful thinking

In a brief statement on their Facebook page, the police say the reward will be granted to anyone who provides information leading to the arrest of the person or group responsible for the incident.

NONESelangor exco member Elizabeth Wong (right), whose official car was damaged in the first explosion, urged the police to expedite the probe.
“The bombings can be considered a terrorist action intended to cause chaos. Such things must not be allowed to be repeated.
“Those responsible for the bombings must be brought to justice immediately,” Wong said.
In addition, she condemned media reports accusing the rally participants of planting the bombs as “irresponsible” and “not making sense”.
The bombings occurred outside the Kuala Lumpur Court Complex, where PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim was acquitted of sodomy charges about an hour before the first bomb exploded at 10.20am.
Five people were injured in the bombings, in addition to four motorcycles and several cars, including a car belonging to aMalaysiakini journalist, being damaged.
Police believe that the explosions were caused by home-made time bombs hidden in traffic cones.
